Pedro L. P. Fontes

 

Pedro Fontes is an Assistant Professor in beef cattle reproductive physiology in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science at the University of Georgia. The main goal of his research and extension program is to develop new reproductive management strategies and assisted reproductive technologies (ART) that can be incorporate by cattle producers not only in Georgia, but across the U.S. and internationally. Dr. Fontes has secured over 1.7 million dollars in funding through a diverse funding portfolio, receiving support as principal investigator from local commodity groups, private industry, and federal funding sources. Dr. Fontes has also published 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 58 peer-reviewed abstracts, as well as 56 popular press and peer-reviewed Extension publications. Dr. Fontes has also delivered over 130 invited presentations in his current position at the local, national, and international level.
